I work in alterations and it’s interesting seeing what other shops charge. So often I have gals telling me “that costs more than the dress!” Like yes, you paid money to have the dress made once. Now I have to unmake it, customize it then put it back together like I never touched it.

There are three factors at play: Time. Money. Energy. Everyone in the comments saying the bride could get something for cheaper. Maybe but not in the 2 weeks she needed the dress. She could have gone somewhere cheaper and in the 2 weeks but it wouldn’t look as good. In the end, it isn’t your dress or money. The bride thought the cost and effort was reasonable for the time constraint and that’s all that matters. The dress looks beautiful and the charge is more than reasonable imo

Okay, not cheap but worth it! It looks like it was made for her ❤️Y’all did an amazing job! Something people need to understand is how many hours went into basically recreating this gown. Might have even been easier to start from scratch as you have to work around existing seams and make that work. Fabulous job!! ❤️
