this post fails to tell u how to check the turn on pressure of the pressure switch. when emptying the pressure tank with power to the pump note the pressure on the gauge near the pressure switch when u here a click from the pressure switch which indicates the pump has turned on. the gauge will reverse direction as pressure builds. what was the reading when the pump came on? set the pressure tank pressure to b 2 pounds less then ur reading. This post assumed u had a 40psi turn on setting but didn't tell u how to determine it.

First of all, that’s not 100% true the best thing to do is go turn the water on see when the pump kicks on under the pressure gauge and when it shuts off so when it kicks on, do you wanna be 5 pounds less air in the tank when it’s empty then when the pump kicks on so for example we’ll do it easy 30 to 2540 is 3550 is 40

can I check the pressure on the tank when in operation? or will it read differently than if you drain it down?
