This is a fascinating topic. I can 100% confirm this is true. I'm biracial and dated a white man--the kind you described--who called my 3b hair texture "nappy". Unintentional racism is definitely a thing and it should definitely be treated than intentional racism. You can easily train unintentional racism out of the person (something Clint Eastwood showed in the 2008 film Grand Torino) and they should be given the room to redeem themselves but it’s much, much harder to do so with someone who is intentionally being a jackass and unironically using slurs like the n-word (not typing that out, nope).

As a multiracial black woman, those of us who date out are extra cautious because we don’t want to be fetishized. I am married to my Jewish husband for almost 40 years and I can say the majority of African American women don’t want to date out, but we do because black men are not interested.

Yeah I see this. Some ppl I believe do it on purpose & some I think really don’t realize. My example is I hate when white ppl who don’t know me come talking to me is a “Black-ccent”. Calling me “girl” or “girlfriend” will either have me cuss u out or walking away from u mid sentence because at what point in this convo did u hear me call u or anybody else “girlfriend”? I don’t even talk like that. For of all its corny & it’s not the 90’s.😩🤣 Now when I start talking in a ditzy valley girl voice they better not get offended.🤣 I hate watermelon btw.😩🤣🤣🤣

Mine cheated on me with 27 black sugar “babies “ and when I found out he said “it didn’t count cause he just used them to “serve” him. While I was hurt beyond belief and super angry I was put in a position to DEFEND the girls ( he was in his 60s and they were 19-27) because of so many horrible things he said about them. Yes we are divorced and yes he is disgusting
