I can’t see it very closely so I could definitely be wrong, but it looks like you might be twisting your purls which might be why the cardigan seems a little off? You can also twist the purl by wrapping the yarn in the wrong direction, which is what I figured out I had been doing! Superwash shows the texture a lot more than fluffier yarns, which is why it might be clearer here.

Swatch with the different needle size and see if you like that look better!

I knit the step by step sweater in cascade 220 superwash and it did grow a lot! I ended up putting it in the dryer some to shrink it a little. The Tolsa Tee and Tolsta Tank use DK weight and could be a good short sleeve option for that yarn! She also has some modifications for lace!

I think you should block the Maggie Cardigan now in the same manner you plan on blocking the final piece and then decide from there whether it would be too oversized or not. One thing to consider is that super wash will stretch A LOT. If it blocks too large, Rebecca Clow (the creabea) is releasing a cardigan soon (Solas cardigan) that looks like your inspo pics and will have a DK option

Recently knit a sweater in Cascade 220 superwash and it stretched a BUNCH when blocking, so if you already think it’s too big then it might be worth frogging!! A lace pattern would be so much fun

I am obsessed with the lacework (I have no idea if that’s right) in the other vests you showed but I think those would be better served with like a lightweight yarn??

I think the Maggie is looking good and your issues will likely block out. BUT you have to listen to your inner voice and if you’re not as excited to pick it up/make progress/have anxiety about it then maybe that’s a sign to take a step back and change directions. Your inspo pics are also gorgeous but very different from the Maggie!

I would love to apply to be a pattern tester! I am new-ish to sewing (mainly free hand/upcycle clothes) and would love to see what new sewer can learn from the pattern!
