heavy on the family one. each family member has a way to come visit US, not the other way around. life is so much more hectic and spontaneous in the military than it is not being in it

Regular long distance u can call whenever text whenever plan to hangout whenever military u legit only get Sundays MAYBE letters written here and there and certain days to go see them it’s not easy lol ppl don’t understand until they’re in it

As a girly who had a medium distance college relationship (1 hr drive we saw eachother weekends and once during the week), he’s in AIT now and military long distance ESPECIALLY BASIC is a whole different level of missing him. Nothing makes me mad faster than “you’ll see him soon” no mam I won’t I actually don’t know when the next time is I’ll see him and if you say that again I’m going to cry

When he got deployed the first time EVERYONE and their mom kept telling me “ well you guys did long distance before you’ll be fine” like excuse me?! We called maybe once a week if we were lucky! It’s nothing like when we were dating and long distance

You can always visit a LDR normally, you can’t go visit during deployment :/ thankfully my parents are really understanding in our ability to go home during holidays etc bc my spouse is working 24 hour shifts on actual holidays on short notice :/
