@drchelsey_parenting: I know that sounds like fear-mongering. It’s not. The research on girls this age is clear. Confidence doesn’t just drift. It drops. Fast. Usually between 10 and 13, right when her brain is restructuring itself from the inside out. Right when she’s watching how the world responds to her. Right when she’s deciding what she thinks about herself. Here’s what neuroscience shows: the tween brain is literally rewiring. The emotional centers fire up first. The regulation and reasoning parts come last. Which means she feels everything at full volume before she has the tools to handle any of it. What you do right now either builds something solid or leaves her to figure it out alone. This weekend, I want to help you build something solid. The Weekend Reset for Girl Parents is 3 modules, 15 minutes each. You’ll walk away knowing exactly how to talk to her, connect with her, and stay her anchor through the hardest years of her growing up. Comment WEEKEND1 and I’ll send you the link.
Put her in wrestling. I promise her confidence will SOAR when she realizes what she’s capable of.

My 11 yr daughter does competitive dance for 10 hrs a week - she doesn’t have time for the school drama. That makes a difference. Also, a mother’s confidence is very important! They feed off that energy

Why don’t all parents know all this from birth?! Like I genuinely wish it was mandatory to take parenting/behavior and child psychology classes to better understand before we “parent”. I feel like sooooo much could change for the better in the world. I hate that I’m JUST NOW learning so much and most of it, is too late. Glad for the knowledge I know now but man.. the things I would have changed.

What if you have the opposite problem lol my daughter I love her but she is so overconfident. She does not see anything wrong with herself or her skill level and I constantly have to tell her like it’s OK not to be good at something you’re learning and then her response is, I’m fantastic at this. She’s just turned 6
