in spanish is translated directly as "Las mil y una noches" so when i started watching booktube and booktok i was very confused with "the arabian nights" i thought it was a diferent book

My favorite Magic the Gathering card is Shahrazad: You stop the game you're playing and start a new game inside the game you're playing to stall, and I think that's one of the best practical references I've seen in games

I made a synopsis about this story for my junior highschool literature task. There's a story in a story in a story in a story in it. Needless to say, making synopsis about this book was a nightmare. But it turns out as the best synopsis in my entire class. Even my teacher put it in our monthly wall bulletin for the entire students in my school to read. 🥰🥰🥰

In Brasil we call it the "Mil e uma Noites", which translates directly to "1001 Nights". My mother knew some of the stories and told me and my brother, and she heard those stories — along with a LOT of greek mythology, from my grandma, which I unfortunately never met.

Shahrazad was one of my first women from history I looked up to as a child. My mom gave a kids version of 1001 Nights and I think I read it a dozen times.

one thousand and one nights, a retelling by hanan al-shaykh, is an amazing book that goes through all of the stories from a feminist perspective really great book incredible

Millennial here. Grew up in Kenya, reading 1001 nights and we even had it in Swahili ❤️I just obtain a copy to read to my kids. I had forgotten about it.

In Turkish it’s “Binbir Gece Masalları” which translates to “One Thousand and One Night Fairytales” if you translate it literally, but you can translate it as “Great Many Night Fairytales” if you take its secondary meaning
