I say this with the utmost respect to studio ghibli. This movie was terrible. Horrible plot that never really got resolved, too long for no reason and just didnt really hit the mark. Thats why no one talks about it. 2/10 movie.

With all my heart i will recomended to read the book, Ursula Le Guin is the author. Movie mixed story and didn't show all emotional connection with characters.

Rewatched this a few days ago. Animation and character design is gorgeous and brilliant but the plot is inconsistent and not very well paced compared to the other ghibli movies.

It has the worst storytelling among Studio Ghibli films, but I admit the visuals are beautiful. It’s like Zack Snyder’s movies, bad storytelling but visually stunning, so some people still like them.

the way that people don't like this movie is how i feel about Howl's Moving Castle, it's an obvious ghibli classic, but unfortunately. I'm just apart of the percentage of people who just couldn't connect with it on an emotional level. i cannot deny the exquisite visuals that made the movie stand out, but it felt it lacked a key, emotional factor, at end of the movie, its like enjoying a full course meal, but the dessert being a miss, maybe i need to watch it again, or try another movie but, damn, princess mononoke did not make sense either.
