I’m an adult and just had my first dentist appointment where they genuinely made me feel like shit for never being to a dentist I went in with a very bad tooth that’s hurting, they wouldn’t help me I left crying and haven’t been back to a dentist since my tooth still hurts but I’m so scared to go back. I envy those who can.

Wanna know something funny, when I was a kid I had no absolute fear of dentist cause I thought that my teeth is a shell and has no pain receptors, my dentist thought I was really brave but in reality I was kind of stupid 😅

Never forget getting my first cavity and I was so scared of the dentist, my old dentist let me put on cartoons and told me jokes the whole time. Even explained everything to me and let my nana be there the whole time, he was super sweet and has been my nanas dentist for years, even worked on my dad when he was young 😭

im 48 and autistic and Ive just found a dentist that helps me like this. we calmy decide how many seconds I have to have stuff being done. she has me as her last appointment of the day. and she takes her time. shes amazing. I made them friendship bracelets last time I went to see her.
