@miltonlouisgonzalez: What will your children remember when they speak about home? Not the big moments… but the feeling. The tone. The way love was lived out on ordinary days. We don’t get to edit their story later… but we are writing it right now. So make it warm. Make it safe. Make it real. Because one day, your everyday moments will become their lifelong memories. #ParentingWithPurpose #LegacyMatters #IntentionalParenting #FamilyFirst
I quit drinking alcohol MAINLY for my 3 year old son, I don’t want him to grow up with the trauma of having an alcoholic mom , 108 days sober and counting

On another note its easy to judge your parents because you are a child but you start to understand them when you also a parent

Actually since becoming a parent I understand mine even less. I cannot fathom treating my son the way I was treated, ever, not once.

In my years of parenting what I have found matters the MOST is admitting when you’re wrong and asking for forgiveness. THAT is what matters.

My grandpa Eddie was my favorite person in this entire world. He was the person who made my sister and I feel safe and unconditional loved. He taught us that family is everything. I pour his family values and love into my daughters so I can be that person for them. I wanna be their happy safe place

I didn’t drink, party or do drugs. But I worked! And worked! As a single mom…. I feel like I wasn’t enough! I feel like I was always in survival mode and was hard on my children. Sometimes I wish could’ve been a little more nicer, a little more relaxed and maybe, just maybe a little more lenient. I love my kids whom now are grown adults with kids. And I get the fact that my kids are wonderful, amazing adults and serve God but I get thrown in my face how hard i was as a single parent raising three alone!

When I became a mother I became even angrier with my mother. It’s not hard to love and respect a child.

Terrified my kids will only remember being overwhelmed and overstimulated. I hope they remember the good things. I needed to hear this because I will change and try to be more patient even in exhaustion.
