We found a false bottom in our kitchen sink cabinet a couple years back. Removed it and found an insane amount of black mold. We had to completely gut our entire kitchen and redo it

This is a closet of a home we just moved into. The panty is gutted, closets, dining room, etc. all bc of black mold due to roof leaks. I spotted it right away. Air tests have been done and it’s “all clear” but I DOUBT IT in a 4400 sq ft house. I think about this daily lol

Oh you’d hate my house… it’s a 100 year old house and the bathroom was a home job by the previous owners. Idk if the waterproofed at all honestly. We’re slowly (because we can’t afford it) trying to build an ensuite so we can get rid of the current bathroom completely. Then use the ensuite till we can afford to do a whole new main bathroom. Till then we just have to live with the mouldy bathroom cause it’s so bad no amount of vinegar or bleach could fix it. It’s in all the walls, so our only option is to remove them but of course we kind of need a working bathroom so we can’t do that right now.

I DO THIS TOO! Pretty sure my husband thinks I’m insane. If either one of us forgets anything, I’m like “yeah the mold is getting to our brains”. We are having the vents cleaned soon because I’m convinced there is mold in them 😅

Side note…we had a Select Comfort bed. We needed a new mattress. When I took apart our Select Comfort mattress, the foam mattress was covered in black mold! We had been sleeping with it!🤮
