there didnt appear to be any evidence that anyone had come or gone from the house ao whoever did it was already there when the alarm is set. officially it was just the parents and son but when they set off to search the house, they started in the basement and found her in the first place they looked so they never searched the house. it was notoriously a maze and someone could have been there hidding out undiscovered and slipped out later in the confusion. maybe even days later. no one has ever brought this up ans it bugs me.

This was a mess from the beginning the cops searched the house up and down and 45 minutes later she was in the basement
