I had a baby in September. I’m not proud of this but i was so depressed i went two weeks without a shower. My baby though was bathed, fed and changed every time he needed it. I neglected myself, but NEVER my helpless baby.

I have PPD, and have moments where I do not want to take care of anything or anyone and just rot in bed. I still drag my ass out of bed to feed and change my baby. And when my husband KNOWS that I'm having a day that's just too hard for me mentally, he picks up the slack and cares for our baby so I can rot. I don't just blame the mom. I blame the dad too. He admitted to taking better care of their dogs than his baby. How do you just sit there and let a baby cry? They have different cries, "I'm hungry," "I'm tired", "I need changed", "I want my mom". How did they ignore them so long as the baby had an infection and starved? Even on my worst days, I still shoot my husband a text asking if he needs me to help or I just get up and help. What that baby went through is just awful.

That was my question as well, like I get ppd is tough and everyone deals differently but dad was there too, what’s his excuse!

I have been drowning in PPD and PPA these last few weeks, but not for one second did I even consider taking it out on my baby boy. He’s the only thing holding me together tbh.

I had PPD and almost swallowed a bottle of pills but my son was never hungry or sat in a dirty diaper for longer then maybe 5 minutes

I had post partum depression after my twins. majority of it was being in a hospital for a month straight while one of them fought to come home, never once neglected the other baby or my oldest. The same one that was in the nicu. we lost 6 months later due to RSV, still yet again did not neglect them, his funeral? found out my mother was dying, dealing with that and planning yet again another funeral. never neglected.
