![Christy Carlson Romano is looking back on an awkward Hollywood moment that left her feeling hurt—and she says Mandy Moore’s reaction made it even worse. During an appearance on Page Six Radio, Romano, 42, recalled attending a wrap party for the 2001 film The Princess Diaries. Although she was not part of the movie’s cast, she said actor Erik von Detten had invited her. At the party, Romano spotted Heather Matarazzo, who played Lilly, Mia Thermopolis’ best friend in the film. Romano said they had worked together on an MTV project in New York, so she approached Matarazzo and asked whether she remembered her. According to Romano, Matarazzo responded awkwardly and said she did not remember their previous interaction. But Romano said the moment that stayed with her involved Moore, who played popular cheerleader Lana in the movie. “Mandy was next to [Heather] and Mandy kind of did this, like [condescending laugh],” Romano recalled. She said the reaction hurt her and left her wondering what to make of the encounter. Romano described Moore as a “mean girl” in that moment, though the account reflects Romano’s personal recollection of the incident. Romano also revealed that she had once wanted to audition for the lead role of Mia. However, her filming schedule for Even Stevens conflicted with the audition, forcing her to miss the opportunity. Years later, she still remembers both the missed chance and the uncomfortable party encounter. Sometimes, a brief moment can stay with someone long after everyone else has forgotten it. \#ChristyCarlsonRomano #MandyMoore #PrincessDiaries #CelebrityNews #hollywoodstories](/video/cover/7694649801622818078.webp)
