People can’t fathom that not everyone enjoys leaving America and enjoys an extended stay in foreign countries. Sure it’s exciting and fun at first..but overtime you feel left out and homesick. I get it.

as a person who's been living in Japan for the last 5 years, people who've never lived abroad will never understand that a place is just a place, no matter where you go. No country is perfect, and even if you can call a place home that doesn't mean it's not without its bad days or faults. Like I can recognize parts where I enjoy and benefit from moving away from my home country but there are still some things I'm allowed to miss or be unhappy with. Most of the time the feeling is just neutral, bc it's just our normal livelihood.
