👇 Read the story behind this wildlife portrait. Behind the camera… Sometimes the smallest creatures are the ones that make you stop and look twice. I spent the morning in the garden, quietly photographing the little world around me. The damselflies had finally become comfortable with my presence, allowing me to get closer than before. And suddenly, I wasn’t just photographing a damselfly. I was seeing the details. Those incredible copper-coloured eyes. The metallic green body. The almost invisible structure of the wings. Every tiny hair and delicate leg. Each angle revealed something different. I wasn’t trying to create a technically perfect macro photograph. I wanted to capture the character of something most people would simply walk past. To me, this is what macro photography is about. Slowing down enough to see what is normally too small to notice. ────────────── About the Damselfly… Damselflies are delicate aerial predators closely related to dragonflies. Their large compound eyes give them an incredible field of vision, while their transparent wings are made up of an intricate network of tiny veins. Up close, their metallic bodies and complex eyes reveal a world of colour and texture that is almost invisible to the naked eye. ────────────── Life lesson… You don’t always have to look further. Sometimes you just have to look closer. 📷 Behind the portrait Camera: Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Lens: M.Zuiko Digital ED 30mm F3.5 Macro Technique: Handheld • Natural light #Damselfly #MacroPhotography #WildlifePhotography #InsectPhotography #naturephotography
