@modernmilt: If your door is rubbing on the floor, it might not be the door… it could be the hinges. Over time, hinges can sag - especially on older cottage doors that see a lot of use. That slight drop is enough to make the door start catching on the floor. Instead of rehanging the door or cutting it down, you can fix it by adjusting the hinge knuckles. Bending the knuckles on the upper and middle hinges helps lift the door back into position and stops the rubbing. Simple fix, no cutting, no replacing. Have you ever tried this trick before, or would you have taken a different approach? My front door hinges cannot be bent this way, they're super thick and I've tried bending them even in a vice.

Why didn’t you just put some sandpaper down and grind off the bottom?

installed a door this weekend, hella uneven floor. i searched for this info and couldn't find it, so I jigsawed a tiny sliver off the bottom of the door. now, 24 hours later, this is on my fyp. thank you for the info, but goddamn TikTok search sucks

I would have taken some off the bottom of the door as well, if it's that close of a clearance.

This helped me so much! This is the first video where someone pulled out the door to show how to do it with deep door trim.

You could of replaced the middle screw on the jamb side with a longer screw into the stud to support the weight
