@morgaanfoley: Autistic overstimulation can look like I’m holding it together one minute and then panicking and sobbing over something small the next minute #actuallyautistic
No because it is that serious. I had a full breakdown before bc wendys gave me a burger instead of a chicken sandwich after a horrid day and I just wanted the same chicken sandwich I always get

as an audhd
I relate to the need for consistency, but guess who moved my stuff?
me from a few minutes ago
any memory of it, wiped
and understanding of why, wiped
and tears, dripping to the floor

one time, my phone was not charged the whole night and it was at 25% (this is the first time I got a phone btw), I literally had a meltdown because it was Sunday morning and we had church so we needed to be outside for awhile. This situation made my parents buy me a powerbank and I was like it's not about the battery 😭

Additionally, that pile was a visual marker for the next few tasks. I left it *there* because it's near this other thing I needed to pick up, and I knew I'd be able to see another area I need to work on and be reminded to do that too. Now the whole flow is broken and I can't remember any of the adjoining tasks.

its like small cracks in the glass, and there'll be the one Crack that connects them all together to shatter it, that's what mine feels like. I feel it weakening

I have ADHD, so it might look Messy, but everything has it's place and I NEED it to be there. But someone still moves stuff to "clean". Like, Don't? I need it to be there to function.

yes, the meltdown when stuff gets moved without my knowledge. I literally cried a few weeks ago because my keys weren't where I keep them. Please leave my stuff where I put it. I need to know where to find the things.

it often takes me crying over a nonsensical non-issue to realize I'm overstimulated and need to step away 😅 not always a quick realization unfortunately 😂

the way that i’ve cried over “stupid things” is now making me realised could it have been meltdowns? i’ve kinda suspected(? not really the right word) myself to be autistic but idk. i am however very obviously neurodivergent

for so many years I was told I was dramatic for this exact reason, either just sobbing or getting mad and saying so many things at once because they would move everything or change plans. now I am super grateful to have an understanding of myself

We can get very attached to our own systems, places, and orders. Others don’t understand why we get to upset when it’s disturbed!💜✨
