Back when I was a teen, my school bus stopped and looked both ways on an out of service track every day. The tracks were pulled up everywhere but the road. (I think they eventually got around to it) It frustrated me every time. But she did take our safety seriously with this phantom train.

We don’t stop on the train tracks. We stop well before the train tracks and we don’t get off the bus. We open the door and our window and listen because the bus is long and in case the crossing arms do not come down for some reason we want to make sure everyone I’m bored is safe. However, this was quite comical.
