People forget, at the same time, regardless renewable or fossil fuels producing the power, overall, if EVs are widespread, our entire grid has to be updated to handle that draw on power before EVs can be truly a household commodity, until then and the cost effectiveness and batteries, it remains a novelty for those who can afford it.

wind and solar can only generate a fraction of what coal can. you'd have to cover half your state w windmills and solar panels to be comparable to what current coal energy can produce.
