I got mine done in Korea and they also said I’m light summer! I’m a natural brunette, so the American system would have essentially told me that’s impossible, but I think draping is significantly more important than just following rules

Well it’s correct in their system. 🫶🏻 I wouldn’t exclude bright colors for you though. I would only stay away from warm autumn or very warm muted colors. The light summer colors of their system are actually close to icy colors of winter in the North American system. So it’s not wrong. You lean cooler and that’s what your main feature is. Besides value contradt being different in both systems.

im so glad to see this. I also have dark hair and eyes but all the videos told me light summer was for those with blue eyes and mostly blonde hair. I vibe with the light summer neutrals more than the brighter colors

I am not Asian, but I did the Korean system and had interesting results. My primary is equally True Winter and True Summer. And I can wear some Dark Winter shades. Yet, not all.

I think the systems are different because there are different beauty standards in the U.S. vs. Korea. For example, a Korean analysis may say you look great in a certain color because your skin looks lighter, where in the U.S. system we’d probably say it washes you out. The colors don’t lie either way, you can use color to look however you want to look

Interesting. This explains why some Asian actors stand out in softer colors. The western color system is probably designed to work best for caucasians. Asians should not all be typed “winters”.
