@bakedbynech: My kids have a hard time understanding why I left my nursing career to run a failing bakery, especially when they hear I had zero baking experience before opening it. I think they’re finally starting to understand after the conversation we had while I was making blueberry pistachio croissants in the background. The truth is, at 15 we’re expected to know what we want to do with our lives, and at 18 we’re pushed to choose a path. But in reality, it can take decades to find what you truly love. And when you do, like I did with baking, I believe it’s completely okay to drop everything and pursue your dreams, goals, and passions. That’s what I want my kids to do. That’s what I did.
