I started losing my hair at 26, I'm now 32, it seemed at first that it was just getting thinner. wasn't really growing past my shoulders, but then a few years ago, it fell out to the point where when I put it in a pony tail, i could only use those baby elastics, it was only a few millimeters thick, and I could see all kinds of scalp, and when it gets wet, I have strings of hair, and scalp all over. its so bad I just gave up on it and started shaving it, I started buy wigs and now I can have the hair I've always wanted but could never have. its given me so much more confidence back. before I was worried that people were looking at me because they could see my scalp but now I'm getting looks and compliments on how beautiful my hair is, even though its not my bio hair, its still a part of me lol its how I expressed myself my whole life. I lost a piece of myself when I lost my bio hair, but wigs have given that back to me 🥰 I've even inspired other women in my town to wear them as well lol
