@trainbloom: Magnesium’s not just a “sleep supplement” It’s involved in almost everything your body does But like any supplement the benefits only show up if you aren’t getting enough through your diet alone And it’s not that you can’t get enough from food… It’s just really hard unless you’re intentional about it The RDA is ~420 mg/day for men, ~320 mg/day for women But foods that contain the most magnesium aren’t really the most common foods most people eat * Pumpkin seeds (150mg/oz) * Almonds (80mg/oz) * Dark chocolate (65mg/oz) * Spinach (150mg/cup cooked) * Avocados (60mg each) That’s where a supplementing can help Just be sure to look for any form other than citrate or oxide (low absorption, you pee most of it out) I take 200–300mg of extra magnesium per day (Legion Athletics Sucrosomial magnesium, linked in my bio for a discount) But a few other solid brands: * Thorne * Pure Encapsulations * Ekko * Bulk Supplements Studies/research: Sleep: PMID: 39252819 PMID: 38817505 Stress & Anxiety PMID: 28445426 PMID: 39387051 #magnesium #supplements #supplement
everyone remember what magnesium poisoning is... plz

Mahay :
When I took magnesium I had more dreams than normal and also scarier ones. Not sure if that’s related but I stopped after.

I took this and it never helped or made a difference. Even with a good diet and exercise. The only thing it did is it made me 💩 a lot

Pharmacist here. You want 120 to 200mg absorbed magnesium. For example, Magnesium oxide is 60% elemental magnesium, absorbed 10% only, it means you need at least 2000mg of magnesium oxide a day (divided in 2 to 3 doses) and this specific salt has laxative effect due to low aborption rate. Different salts like Mg glycinate, biglycinate, citrate etc have different amount of elemental magnesium and different absorption rate.
