My room was nice and empty before I left for uni and now it’s got a bunch of shit in it and I can barely move around. Any room my mom can find she fills it with shit and she STILL doesn’t think she’s a hoarder. She grew up in poverty and I think her scarcity mindset from that trauma makes her hoard things but she refuses therapy. I ask to throw things away and she says no without even giving me a reason. We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and we have 2 fridges for no reason. 2 washing machines we don’t even use for no reason. 2 tvs for no reason. And the other is literally broken. Multiple laundry baskets full of clothes people haven’t worn in years. Bag full of clothes people haven’t worn in years. Stacks of magazines, newspapers and books nobody has read or will read lying around everywhere. 3 couches for no reason. Old ass heels and shoes my mom hasn’t worn in years littered everywhere. And so much more miscellaneous items and furniture lying around everywhere. I’m embarrassed and I’m tired. Sorry for venting. Every time I come back from uni the house gets fuller and fuller because I’m not there anymore to control her.
