@shilohfarm: One of the craziest ranch hacks I’ve ever seen was at a ranch out in Arizona 2 years ago. The owner said “I’m going to brand this horse with no anesthesia or drugs and it won’t kick or nothing.” I thought he was crazy, but it gotten even wilder when he handed me a stick and told me to tap on her hindquarters and don’t stop. After a few minutes I thought I was getting pranked or something. But then he came by with the hot iron, proceeded to quickly brand her, and she barely moved. I couldn’t believe it! I’m not sharing this as a recommendation or anything, but I thought it was so interesting and would love to hear if anyone has done this method of branding? #horse #branding #ranch #shilohfarm

Maybe don’t call it a hack if you don’t want others to try it. You could have said this is something native Americans do and only experienced people should do it. And say that first before people click off the video and don’t hear you saying not to try it.

Same technique used with humans… vibration for babies before vaccines, vibrations for adults before Botox, etc. It’s desensitizing and distracting for anyone who needs it. Never thought to use it on animals too!

Some people do something similar in dentistry before injecting anesthetic. Makes the shot hurt less

My uncle is native (I'm half) and when I'm at the ranch he runs I've heard the same thing! it's really cool and waaaay less expensive
