I’m sorry but is the glucose test different in the US? I’m studying it for uni and here in Italy they draw your blood in the morning on an empty stomach, then you drink the solution in 5 minutes and then they take your blood again at 2 hours (for pregnant women at 1h as well). Any nurse/ doctor that could explain why it’s done this way in the US?

The worst part of mine was it was the day after my birthday and my mum's SUCH a slow eater that I couldn't eat my cake - i think everyone around me suffered more than i did with the glucose test because I was so cranky about my birthday cake 😂😂

In Australia we have to have a blood test first on an empty stomach, then drink the drink, and then test and one hour and 2 hour post drink!

It is WILD to me that you don’t have to drink it in the office. The worst part of the test to me was sitting still. You cannot move around with it and I like to fidget

The glucose test is in my opinion one of the most overdramatized thing on tiktok. I am not great about getting my blood drawn, so that’s the worst part I think.

I can’t believe yours is clear!! And you’re drinking it before you got to the office. I had to chug some artificially colored syrup in less than 5 mins and I wasn’t allowed to eat before.

That’s the hospital I delivered at and it was amazing! They also bring you warm chocolate chip cookies every day at 3pm which is a nice touch lol

In the uk we have to go in after not eating anything after dinner the night before get our blood taken then have the drink wait an hour then get our blood retaken
