I love that everyone is getting into bare metal electronics. It gives me so much hope for the younger generations.

My pi5 2g build. It’s gonna be my off grid info and entertainment system. It’s definitely overkill, but I had no idea what I was doing when I bought it

the ONLY thing that bothers me about raspberry pi and arduinos is that they can do SOOOOO much that I don't even know what I *want* to do 😭 I don't even know what all I can do it's so overwhelming. if I knew what I wanted to create then perfect, the building and logic will come naturally...not that I'm great at it but at least I can follow directions. there's no directions for creativity 😭😭😭

I just want to make like a portable, modern day type writer. im thinking, word doc with key board and printing capabilities. would the pico be enough?

Yea, some massive clarifications. Yes, the Pi5 is a bit pricey (typically $50 for a 1gb board and goes up with more RAM) but that’s also not the only full computer pi. You can get a Pi Zero W2 for $12.59 and if you looking at doing light web browsing, a media box of any kind, word processing, or any other light computing and that’s the ZERO, there’s models every step in between. So if someone’s trying to tell you what you can any can’t use, especially when being very selective about what they actually bring up, be wary of someone actually just selling you on something else.

Raspberry Pi Zero W is a lot cheaper and a computer although pretty small and basic, seems it would be perfect for an MP3 player

Pi Zero W is a full computer for $20 or less. The flexibility of being able to code in python on a headless linux machine is amazing for many projects. I miss when Pis used to be $35. :(

Can I ask what Raspberry Pi you would recommend for offline wikipedia and as like an off grid e-writer? I don’t think I need a 5 but I’m not sure which one would be best, I’ve been looking at a zero or a 3

I pulled the moter out of a m18 drill and 3d printed a housing to put it in a vintage fan. used a atx power supply purple wire to esp32c6 and a relay on the green to turn it on and send 12v to the bldc. matter enabled powerfull desk fan lol

What would you recommend to build something to replace Google mini? I’d love to be able to voice control my IOT devices without being connected to their network
