One of my favorite details about the MCU Steve Rogers is how little he cares about the shield. He values it for all the right reasons, but he knows the shield isn’t what makes Captain America, it’s the MAN. He’s not ruled by it, he lets it drop outta the helecarrier, he drops it right there leaving it to Tony. Because he knows it’s just a fancy piece of metal. HE is THE MAN, HE IS CAPTAIN AMERICA. And now Sam is Captain America.
