Lowk… as someone without a mom who has never had a mom, it would have been nice if my dad could’ve been included in stuff like this. It can be hard to sit in a class filled with people and their mothers and just have to be alone. Maybe this is diff, but it can be complicated

Maybe I’m the odd one out on this but the moment my child asks for their other parent to be involved I’m involving them. Refusing to do so just confuses the child more and celebrating another person does not take away from my relationship and my sacrifices to my children. They know what I went through to have them here, so do I. That bond is unshakable and I don’t look to my children for that kind of validation.

I think we’re over think this rn. My aunt used to go with me to these events because my mom couldn’t. she didn’t need to call herself a mom to do that. The dad could do the same depending on the context, it would just be a way to avoid leaving the kid alone. I don’t know, I could be missing some context here 🤷‍♀️

i went to muffins w mom for my nanny kids for their preschool because their mom was out of town… 😭😭😭 we didn’t want them to be the only kids their alone
