technicolor is such a good description. it's existential. I feel so connected to all mothers past, present, and future in a way I can't describe. it's like I now fully understand human existence and experience. it's a secret club that's just out in the open, it's vast and unending and has always existed but you don't GET it until you're in it.

I like, actually think my daughter made me a real person. I don't know what I was before her, but music sounded different and colors were duller and flowers didn't smell as good. Now I'm going to cry. I've never been so in love.

Imagine living your entire life inside a box. You’ve got everything you need. You’ve got no idea anything exists outside of the box and you’re perfectly happy that way. But one day the box opens and you see an entire world outside. It’s full of colors you’ve never seen and feelings you’ve never felt, so it’s impossible to explain; you just have to see it to understand. You were perfectly happy before, and sometimes you miss the simpler parts of life in the box. But your world is so much bigger now and you can’t imagine it any other way. That’s what it’s like.

The euphoria of having a baby is indescribable, but let me tell you about the joy of having bigger kids. Mine are 13 and 11 and I’m having the most fun of my parenting journey so far. They’ve grown into people I genuinely like hanging out with and we’re starting to have some shared interests. We can go on a family trip and it doesn’t feel like hard work for me and my husband. This feels like the payoff for the grind of the early years.

it's the lowest lows and highest highs lol. watching my daughter learn and grow is incredible I can't believe how rewarding it is. but when she won't sleep it sparks a rage in me that I've never felt before

i find it so interesting when parents say having kids brings high high and low lows, especially when that intensity is seen as a positive, bc I'm thinking I'd actually like to just have medium mediums instead lmao

I'd love to have been a dad, but there is not s fibre in me that want motherhood. all the unique aspects about being s mom sound repulsive to me. I do objectively see that it is something amazing and admirable for those who feel differently. I just don't. I don't think I'd enjoy it a bit.
