I always put my deck boards right against each other because over time they shrink

you got to let cedar sit for a good 3-4 months after installed before you finish

We used this and it’s crap especially when you want to replace the deck boards. Just a gimmick for a money grab

LVL's aren't meant for outdoor use. had to replace too many of them. usually a big deal as the rest of the structure is normally sitting on them. Great for indoor use though.

I’ve never built a deck using a tool like that, but I can see the advantages. It’s very clever! I’ll definitely try this next time.

Does a new treated wood deck need to be sanded before being stained (after the 12 month waiting/drying period)?

Hi I’m Beau 🇨🇦 :
With the angled screws is there difficulty with removal of the boards if anything were to happen to one and you needed to replace it?

so for cedar, we need sunny days to dry out and install and wait for cloudy days to sand and stain. yeah. 🙄

I love you videos and advise, but on this subject I have to respectfully disagree, I build a 23x17x17 with this system in red cedar, and after while the wood started to expand and pull up

I used this on my deck - love it. It was easy, consistent and no screw heads.

So if a board breaks, rots or whatever happens to deck over time. What’s it like trying to make those repairs with them at that angle? Any issues getting those screws out, or just leverage and it is what it is?
