@nxthompson: A man named Matt Gallagher appears to have created the first one-person billion-dollar-revenue AI company---selling GLP-1s. It's a crazy story. He's clearly innovative and entrepreneurial. Maybe the most interesting question that comes now: does he have a moat? If he can do it from scratch with AI, can someone else come after him?

What do you think this says about the concentration of wealth? 1 person being able to do 1B alone.. what does that signal about where inequality is headed? Genuinely interested in your thoughts!!

do you really need a moat if you make a big buck as the first mover and just move on to the next project?

The part people should not ignore is the regulatory risk. The FDA sent MEDVi a warning letter on February 20, 2026, saying the company’s website made false or misleading claims about compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, including language such as “same active ingredient as Wegovy/Ozempic” and imagery suggesting MEDVi was the compounder when it was not. The FDA said those representations made the products misbranded under federal law. The FDA also announced in March 2026 that it had warned 30 telehealth companies over illegal or misleading marketing of compounded GLP-1s, and Reuters reported this was part of a broader crackdown on firms implying compounded drugs were equivalent to FDA-approved products.
