my stepdad (and my family) was stationed at ft polk for six years, then campbell until he retired in 2013, idk what everyone talks about PCSing every 2-3yrs. it never made any sense to me to leave a post after only 3yrs

Yep and it sucks when your 1 year away from retiring and they don’t care. Now I have to live a year away from my kids and husband

Everyone who’s in the military is “qualified”. literally the best background check and every basic training has a firearm training/qualification program, rifle and handgun may very.

My brother never was moved to another after he got out of training/tech school and went to his first base. It was weird.

Military moves people around to avoid loyalty being concentrated in one place. Keeps the people isolated enough that they are unable to band together and challenge high level authority.

this has always been a point if contention within our family. it caused so many issues between my mother and step father being marines. our family is a mess so that's cool. but my mom got to retire a Master guns and is 70% disabled so thats cool...
