Real friendship isn't a tally chart. I’ve realised there is so much freedom in being the person who does the 4am airport run simply because that is the standard you hold for yourself. When you stop expecting a 'return on investment' and just act out of your own character, you stay honest to yourself and usually attract the right people naturally anyway.

Depends on how much responsibility you got now, back then id do it without question, but as parents get older and more to take care of plus bringing money and food to the table. It can be quite difficult, always depends on peoples situation.

It all depends on what category you fall into tbh. I take the view that if you’re the A player, you should surround yourself with other A players otherwise B or C players might expect A level performance from you, and when that doesn’t happen it can cause conflict. Having said that tho, do absolute A players even exist? Feel like that term is a euphemism for perfection which doesn’t exist in the dunya. But that’s a topic for another day
