You need a bigger light. A pen light isn’t going to display a wide enough light. You want to be able to light up a large area. Room also needs to be dark. The urine will glow bright.

Honestly, we had the same issue. Our carpet looked like yours, we ripped all the carpet up and were replacing it for mat wood.

You need to get down on hands and knees and crawl around smelling carpet, after you clean area use a waterproof rug or just replace that area of rug with a hard washable flooring

Get a black light flashlight off Amazon. My cat was peeing in my house and the oneI got off Amazon works great! Turn off your lights.

So my cat is 16 and he was doing this on my desk chair for awhile. I was chalking it up to his age. One day I thought maybe I’ll switch litter boxes. I found one that isn’t a litter box but I use as one. Ever since switching the litter boxes to this bigger one the accidents stopped. So I think we were using too small of a litter box.

You’re right, that light isn’t the right strength. It’s supposed to be a way lighter purple shade. Also, fabric is extremely hard to spot cat pee. All cats are different so some urine may not shine as bright as other cats’ urine.

it glows bright yellowish green. those spots you pointed out is cat pee on the backside of the carpet. That little bit can smell it all up in the house. clean the area and carpet with vinegar

My Siamese was doing this… on new couch and any rubber backed carpet. She had crystals in her bladder and needed special cat food… it was almost $35.00 a bag! She also would only use litter that had an additive to attract her to it! What a disaster! I totally understand your pain! I felt like I smelled it everywhere!

So if you get the $15 big black light from Walmart it will show up. It’s one you plug up the flashlights also didn’t work for me.

There’s a black light off Amazon that’s more of like a flashlight size that’s better. It’s best to use it at night with the lights off and you’ll know when you see it. It’ll shine high yellow.
