I only use speaker phone, otherwise it’s too hard for me to hear or understand the other person. I keep it half volume, sometimes it’s not a want but a need.

I’m seeing from the comments that yes, there are reasons to be on speakerphone, so I will just say how about using some common courtesy when you’re on speakerphone? Finish your call before you enter a store, turn the volume down, or go somewhere where you bother as few people as possible.
