This topic of Dativ and Akkusative verbs has been the hardest part of my German language learning process. Prepositions are not the problem as they can be memorised quite easily but identifying if a verb is Akkusative or Dativ has been killing me.

Wenn man "wem?" fragen kann ist es Dativ. Wenn man "wen" oder "was" fragt, ist es Akkusativ. Beispiel: Ich gab dem Mann die Tasche. Wem gab ich die Tasche? Dem Mann (Dativ). Was gab ich dem Mann? Die Tasche (Akkusativ).
