Kia warranty engine pays 5.6. CP is 18.2ish for all of em. Transmission is 7.5-9.4, warranty is like 1.6-2.7 I've seen. no extra warranty rate either at my shop. Absolutely pristine levels of heresy lol.

there isnt a shortage of mechanics, there is a shortage of mechanics willing to work for the currently offered pay. double the pay and you'd have hundreds of applications for each opening.

When I worked for Toyota we got 0 for diagnosis. Only got paid for repair time once you found the problem. I went to Lexus and they paid straight time for diagnosis. It’s the same company. WTF?

Let's talk about all the extra administrative tasks Ford is having techs do to prove warranty work is being done. LTIS, SSSC, Prior approval, TIS, SVCs, RVCs and so on. Then once all that is done it may be another 3 months before we even see the parts.

I take my flat rate and multiply it by the time they job is gonna pay, after that if I ask myself if one of my favorite people asked me to do the job for what they offer at work would I laugh at my friend.
