You’re allowed to say yes… and have boundaries. The more you say no, the more it slowly drives their relationship apart.

I was invited on my boyfriend's family vacation.
his mom wasn't my biggest fan (she liked our other best friend better) took me on a spa day just us. we bonded.
she is now hands down the BEST MIL to exist

I have mixed opinions on the example used here but the conclusion is absolutely correct! The classic “because I said so” doesn’t work it’s not effective or fair! Break the toxic cycle and sit down and give your children a true explanation so they can understand. Kids are curious and are supposed to learn from their parents on how to function as adults it’s our job as parents to teach our kids to educate and raise young adults

exactly!! u can both say yes or say no and be a mature adult about that conversation, and no need to get mad or yell!!

If there is a no, let them know the reason why it is currently a no. Otherwise set some boundaries with what you expect to possibly do while hanging out.

More of your videos I watch I realize how my parents never commented with us kids and it shows today on how I don't communicate. I am getting better at it in my 40s
