I love when instead of describing the plot, the back cover just has vague reviews from random people i don't care about

I love it when i'm trying to find out what the book is about by reading the back but instead of a blurb it's just the new York times and random critics I don't care about saying how good the book is

When there’s no synopsis just 2 quotes from other authors saying “this is great”

The only modern example of “the cover is smaller than the book” that actually works is House of Leaves. There’s a reason for it so it’s justified.

I like to watch the movie first so my expectations are lowered so when I read the books my mind will be blown and I have a better visual experience.

A little wicked :
Here’s another one “I love when there’s no summary or description on the back or inside and it’s just a bunch of reviews with no context to the plot at all!” 🙄 Pisses me off to no end. I want to know what the book is about so I can decide if it sounds like something I would want to read (yes I’ll occasionally read something a bit different then my usual tastes but some genres and tropes are a hard pass for me)
