I would prefer auto grat on all checks. I'm always going to tip a baseline % anyway. Then I can add more for really excellent service. Servers deserve fair pay until laws change and restaurants have to pay a living wage. Don't like it, then don't eat out.

I’m curious as to how any establishment thinks that they are entitled to put automatic gratuity? Pay your workers a liveable wage and quit expecting your customers to do it 😡.

For everyone who is saying automatic gratuity isn’t fair, until the system changes and food servers are paid a livable wage, do you expect people to get paid less just because of the system? The server could be working multiple tables and making more money rather than spending all of their time on one big table with no guarantee they will get paid a tip at all. The automatic gratuity is fair.
