Hundreds of upcycled items have been sold by Greater Action since March 2020, or more than six tonnes of fabric that could have ended up in Malaysian landfills. Textile waste is a massive global problem, and the numbers in Malaysia are just as staggering. In 2021, more than 430,000 tonnes of fabric waste ended up in Malaysia's landfills (source: SWCorp). Left on their own, these fabrics with some containing plastic, can degrade into microplastics that can cause harmful side effects to humans and the surrounding landscapes. They can also contribute to rising greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. This is a huge problem, with Malaysia's landfills destined to become completely full in just 15 years. Efforts like what's happening with Greater Action are a small, but significant step in making sure that this doesn't happen. If you're interested in donating your pre-loved clothes or other fabrics (good condition only), please feel free to reach out to @greateraction today! Or if you just want to buy their products or get some customised wedding or corporate gifts as well. Initiatives like Greater Action are in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG5 (Gender Equality) where it involves women refugees in allowing them to be actors as part of the climate action. It also supports SDG12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), where upcycling promotes circular economy practices by keeping materials in use for longer and reducing overconsumption of new textiles. This video was produced as part of the PANAS! Climate Change Stories in Malaysia initiative by Science Media Centre Malaysia, in collaboration with WWF-Malaysia, and supported by the British Council Alumni UK Climate Action Grant. Hmm.. và tuy là mình không có 1 xuất thân quá tốt, cũng k phải là 1 con ng hoàn hảo nhưng mình vẫn luôn vô cùng tự hào về bản thân và xót thương cho những nổi đau đã qua, vì vậy mình cũng sẽ mong muốn mình được yêu thương và mình chọn người luôn đứng về phía mình ❤️
