I mean not necessarily, I mean they can mutate etc, take the long skinny ones Harumasa had nightmares of turning into or when Yidhari fought those giant tank looking ethereals in her trailer, i'd just assume it's all down to mutations, but I also don't doubt that other animals can corrupt, I mean Ben and Lycaon can, and they're both animals with human characteristics
