I grew up bilingual and i can speak Chinese but eventually just like… became illiterate, so now my American friends think im cool when i speak Chinese and my little sister’s 2nd grade friends in china think im dumb bc i cant read or write 🥹

When I was younger I decided learning Italian would be fun and I was all excited about talking to my grandfather in Italian! Because he's Italian! Then my family had to inform me that when he immigrated to the US he was a baby and for some reason his parents never taught him Italian 🙃
