@popculture_historian: Thus read one comment in 2017, when Universal’s IMAX YouTube account released this trailer for their “Mummy” reboot, starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, and Russell Crowe, missing half its audio track. This is arguably the best thing to come out of the 2017 Mummy reboot, and the studio did everything they could to get the toothpaste back into the tube. New versions went up as fast as they could get them taken down, a perfect illustration of what’s called “The Streisand Effect,” coined by Mike Masnick after she tried to get a photo of her house removed from the internet, causing it to go viral when it had only been downloaded six times.
