@tummy0829: Why are so many doctors dismissive of diet for IBD?!? I know it’s not a cure but there’s so much more research on it nowadays that makes dismissing it seem willfully ignorant. #ibd #crohnsdisease #colitis #diet #foodasmedicine
My GI said mainstream medicine FINALLY accepted that diet does influence IBD directly. She gave me a list of things that directly contribute to inflammation—mostly gums and preservatives. I luckily had a holistic GI who diagnosed me and told me diet mattered but it would take time for medicine to catch on. This small list I was given by a new GI took 25 years.

My Dr says that i should avoid a lot of condimented foods, red sauce (which i normally really dont like) and nothing spicy. Other than that, i can eat anything and everything but in controlled fashion. I dont really seem to have a specific food that triggers my flares, it just comes and goes from time to time

My Dr told me that changing my diet would "have minimal impact" in managing my microscopic colitis 😭🙄
