The Camel Thorn trees died, but the air is so dry they cannot rot. 🏜️ Today, they remain standing as black skeletons in a white clay pan, surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes on Earth. This is Deadvlei. A place where time stopped centuries ago. To visit, you must respect the fragile ground and stay on the marked paths. It is a rare look at how the desert preserves what it takes. TRAVEL TIPS: When: Arrive at the park gates at sunrise for the best light. Access: You need a 4x4 for the last 5km of deep sand. Rules: Do not touch or climb the trees.
