Hm… when my car’s AC wasn’t working I was coming back from a farmer’s market and I suddenly felt very tired. I pulled over cause I felt I wasn’t making good choices and thought about napping… and that’s all I remember. All this time I thought it was heat exhaustion now I’m not sure. I woke up to a man banging on my window and I got scared and drove away cause I was confused. But in hindsight he saved my life cause that’s when I rolled the windows down to get fresh air.

doesn't even have to be in a car. heard about a wife and husband sleeping on their boat and past in their sleep cuz the carbon monoxide alarm wasnt working. still horrible either way.

The truth is, if you can afford to run your car all night to keep warm you can afford a safer alternative for heat! A generator and electric blanket or diesel heater are fantastic if car camping is a regular thing but do require upfront costs and setup. However anyone can pickup a box of Handwarmer, and a few in your sleeping bag will keep you toasty all night long for around $5. (running the vehicle overnight will cost $10-$30 in fuel)
