Heartfelt condolences to all on the martyrdom anniversary of Shehzada Ali Asghar(as). Some people believe that the martyrdom of Shehzada Ali Asghar(as) occurred on Ashura. While that is true, each of the first ten days of Muharram is traditionally dedicated to remembering a particular martyr of Karbala. Today, the 6th of Muharram is devoted to the youngest and most innocent martyr of Karbala — Shehzada Ali Asghar(as), the six-month-old son of Imam Hussain(as). A child who had never committed a sin, never uttered a word, and never harmed a soul, yet became the eternal symbol of innocence, suffering, and sacrifice. When thirst gripped the camp of Imam Hussain (as), this infant was brought before the enemy, not to fight, but in the hope of receiving a drop of water. Yet instead of compassion, a merciless arrow was released, piercing his delicate neck while he rested in his father’s arms. His martyrdom remains one of the most heartbreaking moments in human history — a tragedy that continues to move hearts and bring tears to eyes centuries later. Each year, the 6th of Muharram is observed with nohas, majalis, and gatherings of remembrance, where lovers of Ahlul Bayt(as) mourn the loss of the youngest sacrifice of Karbala. Karbala was not merely a single day of sorrow; it was a journey of sacrifice spread across ten unforgettable days.
